This one-day workshop focuses on the attitudes and tools we need to take into the future to ensure we have the emotional wellbeing, resilience and peace of mind to handle an ever-changing world.
We look at some concerns in today’s way of living:
- a loss of values and standards resulting in many people feeling disconnected in today’s society
- a yearning for ‘the good old days’ as ideal living (Nostalgia can be a great thing, but not if we are living in it)
- as we are confronted with more and more doubts and insecurities, many people are looking for more certainties in life to give us some stability and permanence when so much seems transient
Today’s society increasingly focuses on speed, productivity, materialism, consumerism, and money, resulting in a greater amount of anxiety and depression. Through a series of exercises and discussions, participants in the workshop will explore the Anxiety Triggers that pervade today’s society. If we are to make changes to our way of living, we need to acknowledge where the problems lie.
Now is the time to look at the things that we value, the things that are important to our way of living setting us up for the life we wish to lead.
- What do we want to take into our future?
- What are those things that we want for our family?
- How can we implement those values and standards?
Much as we may wish for it, the world is not going to be as it was in the past – the world is going to be forever changing. We look at where our society is now, acknowledging the things that we want to carry into the future, but working with our world as it is today, ensuring that we have the coping skills for whatever life may throw at us.
